Super TET Current Affairs 2026

Current Affairs forms an integral part of the General Knowledge paper in Super TET. In the Primary Teacher examination (Classes 1–5), General Knowledge and Current Affairs carries 25 questions (75 marks). In the Junior Teacher examination (Classes 6–8), Section 1 allocates 30 compulsory questions (90 marks) to General Knowledge and contemporary developments.

2. Current Affairs Preparation Strategy

A disciplined, systematic approach to current affairs ensures comprehensive coverage without information overload:

  • Preparation Timeline: Focus primarily on the 10 to 12 months of events preceding the scheduled examination date.
  • Concise Daily Notes: Spend 20–30 minutes daily summarizing 5–7 major headlines into categorized bullet points.
  • Selective Focus: Avoid political commentary and sensational news; concentrate strictly on policy, education, awards, sports, and science.

3. Important Categories to Follow

Organize your current-affairs tracking across these nine key thematic categories:

National Developments

Major national summits, legislative acts, newly inaugurated infrastructure, census indicators, and government portals.

International Affairs

Bilateral treaties, international organizations (UN, UNESCO, BRICS, G20), and global index rankings concerning India.

Government Initiatives

Central and state welfare flagship schemes, financial inclusion initiatives, and health/sanitation programs.

Awards & Honours

Bharat Ratna, Padma Awards, Sahitya Akademi, Nobel Prizes, National Film Awards, and Khel Ratna recipients.

Sports

Olympic games, Asian Games, National Games, cricket tournaments, tennis Grand Slams, and national record holders.

Science & Technology

ISRO space exploration missions, defense research developments, renewable energy breakthroughs, and digital public goods.

Important Appointments

Heads of constitutional bodies, Chief Justice of India, Election Commissioners, and key UP administrative officials.

Education-Related Developments

National Education Policy (NEP) milestones, NIPUN Bharat goals, DIKSHA portal updates, and school literacy indices.

Uttar Pradesh Developments

State budget allocations, Operation Kayakalp, One District One Product (ODOP) additions, and regional cultural events.

5. Revision Techniques & 6. Static GK Linkage

Revision Strategy

  • Weekly Recaps: Spend 1 hour every Sunday reviewing the week's headline points.
  • Monthly Testing: Attempt a 50-question monthly current affairs quiz to test recall.
  • Category Grouping: Review topics by category (all sports together, all awards together) to avoid cross-concept confusion.

The Static GK Connection

Current affairs questions in teacher recruitment exams often bridge into static GK. When an event mentions an international treaty, verify the headquarters of the sponsoring body; when a UP district features in news, review its geographical and historical facts.
