Subject Syllabus & Preparation

Super TET Reasoning Syllabus 2026

Reasoning ability evaluates logical deduction, pattern recognition, and analytical thinking. In the Super TET 2026 Primary Teacher examination (120 questions, 360 marks, 120 minutes), Reasoning carries 5 objective questions (15 marks). Because these questions follow clear conceptual patterns, candidates can secure full marks with targeted, systematic practice.

MARKING RULE
+3 / −1

Every question answered correctly awards +3 marks, while each incorrect answer deducts 1 mark, contributing 15 marks toward the total 360-mark paper. Under the official syllabus, Reasoning is a standalone section for Primary Teachers (Classes 1–5).

3. Preparation Focus & 4. Common Question Types

Note: These topic categories reflect standard teacher recruitment reasoning formats provided as preparation guidance:

Analogies

Word relationships, numerical pairings, and semantic associations.

Classification (Odd One Out)

Identifying the single element that does not fit a common categorical property.

Series Completion

Number series, alphabetical progressions, and alternating arithmetic sequences.

Coding & Decoding

Letter shifting, reverse alphabet positions, and symbol-substitution cipher puzzles.

Direction Sense

Cardinal direction movements, shortest distance calculation, and final facing orientation.

Blood Relationships

Family tree generation and direct maternal/paternal generational linkages.

Basic Logical Reasoning

Simple Venn diagram interpretations, statement-assertion tests, and clock/calendar basics.

5. Concept Building, 6. Practice & 7. Speed Tactics

Master Alphabet Positions

Memorize English alphabet positions (A=1 to Z=26) and their reverse pairs (A-Z, B-Y, etc.) using mnemonic aids (e.g., EJOTY). This allows solving coding and series questions in seconds.

Diagram Every Relationship

Never solve complex blood relation or direction problems in your head. Sketch quick diagrams on rough paper to avoid deceptive traps.

Target Under 4 Minutes

In the real examination, aim to complete all 5 Reasoning questions within 3 to 4 minutes, preserving valuable time for lengthy mathematics and language comprehension sections.

8. PYQ Practice, 9. Mistake Analysis & 10. Revision

Past Super TET examinations (such as 69,000 ATRE 2019) demonstrated straightforward reasoning questions based on coding-decoding, number series, and blood relations.

  • Review Past Papers: Solve past 5-question sets from the Previous Papers Archive.
  • Error Logging: If a series pattern is missed, record the mathematical rule (e.g., n² - 1, prime numbers) in your revision log.
  • Weekly Drills: Solve 15 mixed reasoning questions weekly to maintain rapid cognitive flexibility.
